In this installment of our Entertaining 101 series, we’re going to explore unique party ideas that are sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The holidays are all about making memories and spending time with your friends and family. And there’s no better way to do that than with a fun, holiday-themed party. This year, instead of a sweater party or a gift exchange, why not think outside the box and celebrate the holidays in a slightly less conventional way?
During this time of year, it’s important to celebrate what really matters most. In light of that, you can take this chance to throw a party that everyone will love and remember until next year. You definitely don’t have to go completely outside of the box, but doing something a little differently never hurt anyone.
We’re asking a lot of you, so we want to help you out by offering up some of our favorite creative holiday party ideas. Be sure to check them out below and start planning your next shindig! All of these are guaranteed to be so fun, they will be able to put a smile on even the Grinch’s face.
Gingerbread House Decorating Party
Who doesn’t love decorating for the holidays? With a gingerbread house, you can do all that and more, just on a smaller scale….and with icing and gumdrops. Gingerbread houses have been a yuletide tradition for centuries and we think that it’s a tradition that should live on. There are plenty of kits you can buy that come with all the bells and whistles you’ll need to put together your house. Or, if you’re particularly good at baking, you can bake your house from scratch. Whatever route you decide to take, you’re guaranteed to have a fun, and very sweet, time.
Holiday Movie Marathon Party
Having a movie night with friends and family is an age-old tradition. Now that the holidays are here, it’s a great time to incorporate some of your favorite holiday films into the mix and invite your closest loved ones over for a marathon. Everyone can curl up on your couch and watch fun movies, and eat festive treats. You can even combine two party ideas into one and make a sleepover out of your movie night so you can watch movies all night long.
Cookie Baking and Decorating Party
Since Santa’s coming to town, you and your loved ones should whip up a batch of cookies and decorate them for the big day! Cookie decorating is a fun, interactive, and festive way to test your kitchen and crafting skills while also having a ton of fun. When your cookies are done and the decorating is complete, you can see what everyone created, take photos, and eat your masterpieces – just make sure you save some for Santa!
Holiday Carol Karaoke
Last, but certainly not least, is Holiday Carol Karaoke. Karaoke is a beloved pastime for many different people and holiday carols are everywhere this time of year, so we thought it would be fun to combine the two! All you need is a TV, microphones (real or fake!), and a ton of holiday spirit and you’ll have yourself a party. Serve up the tunes with some delicious food and drinks and you and your guests will continue singing well into the night.
