And there’s nothing better than seeing it in action.
Blogger Emma Chapman’s living room redesign is full of bright, vivid colors and we can’t wait to tell you about it. Keep reading to learn more!
One thing Emma Chapman, the founder and creator of the popular blog A Beautiful Mess, isn’t afraid of is an abundance of color. So when she and her husband started to redesign their living room recently, they wanted to use a lot of complementing colors while keeping the room cozy, yet functional at its core. To do that, they found a lot of multi-colored decor items, like soft furnishings and a bespoke faux-weave wall hanging, to bring in lots of colors while also getting new furniture pieces that show off their
The largest furniture piece they chose was the Hughes Corner Sectional in a neutral gray color. The couple had been looking for a sectional for a while, so when they found Joybird, everything clicked into place. The sectional frames the room nicely without sacrificing floor space. The gray color also gives the brighter colors featured in the design a point of contrast, so it allowed Emma to be more liberal with her color palette.
One of the brightest stars in her room, however, is the Soto Chair she has in Key Largo Bubblegum. It’s such a fun and vibrant color that your eye can’t help but go right to it when you look at the room. The chair, like the couch, uses a pet-friendly fabric to ensure that the piece stays clean and the color remains fresh for years. And, even though this color is eye-catching, it blends with the design perfectly.
Another stand-out feature of Emma’s living room is the statement wall that’s opposite of the couch area. She expertly created a gallery wall with picture frames of all different sizes and then painted the entire wall a gorgeous shade of hunter green, giving this room an edgy and trendy look.
We LOVE how much color is packed into this room and how well Emma was able to balance them all to achieve her vision. Are you ready to say hello to color this Spring? If so, you should definitely take a page out of Emma’s book. Check out more of her life on her blog today!
