We’ve talked about moody walls before, but, in general, moody designs are coming into style in a big way this fall. The autumn interior design trends that are becoming popular right now are celebrating everything big and bold, and moody designs fit right into that. Instead of cool neutrals, moody designs focus on deep hues that make a significant impact. They don’t necessarily have to be shades of gray and black, however. You can use any color palette as long as the color pay off is rich and vibrant.
Jewel tones are always gorgeous, but they are especially so in the fall. Their warm, vibrant hues seem to get even brighter this season, so it’s the perfect time to break them out. Because their color is so rich, jewel tones are a great option for an accent or statement piece. Nothing’s worse than having your room’s design overwhelmed by a color palette, even if it’s gorgeous. But, if done right, your jewel-tone furniture will make your space sing. An added bonus of using jewel tones in your autumn design is that the colors transition amazingly into winter.
Velvet and autumn seemingly go hand-in-hand, and the trend is still going strong this season. In past seasons, however, interior designers and homeowners alike have shied away from getting larger pieces of furniture in colorful velvet swatches. We challenge you to do the exact opposite and embrace both color and velvet. It will make your space seem even more luxurious and expensive. Trust us – you’ll love the look!
Many people associate the easy, breezy nature of Bohemian design with warmer weather, but this autumn is the perfect time to think outside of the box when it comes to this style. We love the bright and airy colors that are quintessentially Boho, but we believe they can be the perfect canvas for your autumn design. One way you can have a bright color palette that translates nicely to cooler weather is to incorporate heavier fabrics and textures into your current design. Yes, it’s really that easy!
