Follow along as blogger and YouTuber Sarah Eichelberger details her eclectic office makeover.
Sarah Eichelberger, the woman behind the popular blog and Youtube channel Sarah Belle, is a fun, independent blogger that has a passion for fashion, home decor, and plants. When she first toured her 1920s East Nashville home, she immediately fell in love with the small room she now calls her home office. Once she saw it, she knew she could do amazing things in that space, starting with redesigning it to fit her aesthetic. So, after drawing inspiration from interior designers and trendy homes from around the world, she got started.
“I knew I wanted this room to be my office when we toured the place last year because of the natural light it got, perfect for shooting pictures & videos and also amazing for my plants.”
Sarah describes her style as eclectic and bohemian. Much of her design aesthetic involves mixing higher end, newer pieces with vintage items she finds at thrift stores. The most crucial design elements she uses, however, are houseplants. Plants help make a room feel more natural and airy, which is perfect for an office. And, for Sarah specifically, plants help her relax and get in the mindset of getting work done. It was important to her to have those homey touches in her office so she could create a comfy space to answer emails, film videos, and write blog posts.
“Having my separate office helps me keep my work in one place and my relaxing time everywhere else.”
To achieve her eclectic and bohemian style, Sarah opted to get the Briar Sleeper Sofa and the Xavier Apartment Desk from Joybird. She chose the Briar Sleeper Sofa because it’s large, comfortable, and can convert into a bed when guests come to visit. She was blown away by the amount of color and fabric choices that Joybird has for their products. She had heard great things about the quality of the furniture products from friends and influencers, and she was not disappointed.
“My couch is my favorite thing in the entire house, it’s beyond my expectations. The velvet is the softest velvet I’ve ever touched, not to mention it’s so plush. I could rave about it for days…I think this space truly reflects who I am, it’s so colorful and bohemian. When we have people come from out of town to stay with us I am always so excited to show them my office, not only because that’s where they are staying since my Joybird couch is a sleeper sofa, but because I think it’s the room in the house that is the most me.”
Sarah’s office is a testament to how you can create a beautiful and impactful work area in a small space. We love the way it turned out! To learn more about Sarah and her amazing office transformation, check out her blog!
