Happy February! Just because it’s two months into 2019 doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about our interior design resolutions. We’ve been keeping ourselves accountable and we hope you’re doing the same. If not, that’s okay – we’re here to help.
We want 2019 to be your best design year yet. That means we are going to go the extra mile to help you find new and interesting ways to use our favorite interior design trends in your home. To do that, we’re going to focus on three of the 2019 interior design trends we are currently obsessed with, dramatic neutrals, rounded furniture, and tonal reds, to detail how you can incorporate them into your home to give your design scheme a fresh look for the next year.
We all love having a neutral tone in a room, but how can a neutral be dramatic? Easy! Just fill your room with different neutral tones that can make a lasting impression in the room. We recommend doing that by introducing layers of colors that can play off of each other. They can even be within the same color family, it’s just important to create a space that is exciting to the eye. So, whether it’s warm browns or cool grays, let your neutrals speak for themselves and make a statement.
Rounded furniture, a staple of mid-century modern design, is coming back into style in a big way this year. Rounded furniture adds a feminine quality to a room and it’s a great way to add a little drama to a design that can be otherwise monotonous. Also, who doesn’t love a little bit of old world flare in their design? If you are in need of a new centerpiece to your space, we recommend getting your hands on something that lacks sharp
And lastly, we have our bold and beautiful tonal red trend. We love this trend because it can be so versatile – you can add a little taste or go crazy with the hues to create a truly unique space. Seriously, the sky is the limit with what you can do with this color palette.
Traditionally, people tend to shy away from red in interior design because it is such a strong color. We want to keep that thought in the past and fully embrace this dynamic color palette. We do recommend, however, that you come up with a design scheme and find colors that can complement your desired hue of red so you can maintain balance in your space.
We hope this helps you along your journey to creating the space of your dreams! Be sure to tag us in your designs on Instagram!
