And Our 2018 Eye for Design Scholarship Winner Is…
Here at Joybird we were honored to help contribute to the educational aspirations of college students this year. Pursuing a degree is a long and challenging road, and we are committed to lending a hand however we can.
In the spirit of our love for interior design, we asked entrants to share a photo photos via Instagram of their study spaces with a description of why the design of their space expresses their personality and drive. The response was enormous, and we were thrilled to see how students set themselves up for success by creating a spot that encourages productivity and creativity.
After reviewing all of the entries, we were particularly impressed with one standout post. We are proud to announce the winner of the 2018 Eye for Design Scholarship: Aleksandra Kojic.
Aleksandra is currently enrolled in Arizona State University studying design and interior architecture. Her post reflects her aspirations to surround herself with beautiful designs. We wanted to share Aleksandra’s inspiring words she shared after learning she had been awarded this year’s scholarship.
“I am deeply honored to accept the scholarship. This opportunity to creatively express my working place has given me a great pleasure.
It is my belief that in the deepest silence is where the livest conversations take place. There is nothing more inspiring than a whisper of stillness that actuates words and ideas and encourages the creative process.
Design has given me the opportunity to challenge what I see and how I see it. I wish to practice design that will come closer to sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. I believe not only in beauty but also in leaving a legacy for the next generations to follow, learn from, and improve. Creativity is the essence of my being and I plan to dedicate my life to the noble process of making and creating in the service of improving the way people live and feel. “
Congratulations, Aleksandra! If you’d like to check out the other entries we received this year, feel free to check out the hashtag #eyefordesignscholarship2017.
