Christmastime is here! If you haven’t already, it’s time to find the perfect holiday decorations that will simultaneously show off your style and complement your existing home decor. But, instead of using the standard tinsel, it may be time to consider finding more modern ways decorate for the holidays. Think about it – you’re home-decor style is unique, why can’t the same be said about your holiday decor? Below are some of our favorite ideas for how to put a cool spin on this holiday season. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Bring the outside in
We love the idea of bringing natural elements from the outdoors into your home to liven up a holiday design alongside your Christmas tree. When you do, it instantly turns your design into something that’s incredibly chic and modern, but with a slightly rustic twist. Natural elements, like garland, branches, or even houseplants, can also make your home look, feel, and smell fresh. And who doesn’t want that?
Make your fireplace your holiday centerpiece
In most homes that celebrate Christmas, the Christmas tree is the designated centerpiece where all the presents live and all the photos are taken. But, if you want to step a little bit outside of the box, why not skip the tree altogether and make your fireplace the star of the show? A fireplace is often the natural hub of a living space anyway so you won’t have to rearrange your furniture to accommodate for it. On top of that, a fireplace is easy to decorate. Simply trim it with garland, stick some candles on it, and hang your stocking on it like normal and you’ll have a beautiful display your family will love. Trust us, you’ll love your holiday fireplace display. These cute kitties certainly do!
Add pops of gold to celebrate many traditions
We’ve already talked about how incorporating gold accents into your overarching design aesthetic can elevate your home, but we want to make a case for adding them into your holiday design too. The holidays and gold go hand-in-hand – many traditions have gold figures and symbols in various forms right in the middle of their festivities. So, why shouldn’t you? Gold is a gorgeous color, and it can make anything pop when paired with it. From lights to decor items, there are endless ways to incorporate gold into your design scheme this holiday season.
